BitTorrent 7.9.2 Build 33395

BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P) communications protocol. BitTorrent is a method of distributing large amounts of data widely without the original distributor incurring the entire costs of hardware, hosting and bandwidth resources. Instead, when data is distributed using the BitTorrent protocol, recipients each supply data to newer recipients, reducing the cost and burden on any given individual source, providing redundancy against system problems, and reducing dependence upon the original distributor.
Usage of the protocol accounts for significant traffic on the Internet, but the precise amount has proven difficult to measure. There are numerous compatible BitTorrent clients, written in a variety of programming languages, and running on a variety of computing platforms. The protocol was designed in April 2001, implemented and first released 2 July 2001 by programmer Bram Cohen, and is now maintained by BitTorrent, Inc.

BitTorrent 7 client features:

  • Lightweight client
  • Local peer discovery
  • Multiple simultaneous downloads
  • Configurable bandwidth scheduler
  • Global and per-torrent speed limiting
  • Quick-resumes for interrupted transfers
  • RSS Downloader
  • Trackerless support (Mainline DHT)
  • Always Spyware-Free

µTorrent 3.4.2 Build 33394

µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. µTorrent is built for speed. That means ultra-efficient downloads of mega-sized files. The program was designed to use as little CPU, space and memory as possible while offering all the functionalites expected from advanced clients.
With µTorrent, you can download files faster and contribute by sharing files and bandwidth. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT. Additionally, µTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification and peer exchange. µTorrent was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources.

µTorrent 3.3 Highlights:

  • DiskI/Osystem completely rewritten. Now multi-threaded and high performance. It will take advantage of multiple disks, perform better with even just one, and no one disk job can block everything (e.g slow network blockinglocal I/O, or allocating files)
  • Auto-labeling and per-label download directories (Preferences -> Label)
  • Search items in Advanced preferences

Tixati 1.97

Tixati is a peer-to-peer file sharing program that uses the popular BitTorrent protocol, allowing many peers to form a cooperative swarm and download very large files with great efficiency. The program is a free and easy to use client featuring detailed views of all aspects of the torrent swarm, including peers, pieces, files, and trackers.
Also included are powerful bandwidth charting and throttling capabilities, and a full DHT implementation. Low memory usage. Support for “magnet links”, so no need to download .torrent files if a simple magnet-link is available. Super-efficient peer choking/unchoking algorithms ensure the fastest downloads. Peer connection encryption for added security, as well as IPv6 support. Advanced bandwidth charting of overall traffic and per-transfer traffic, with separate classification of protocol and file bytes, and with separate classification of outbound traffic for trading and seeding. Tixati also featuring Customizable event logging for each download, and individual event logs for all peers within the swarm.

Tixati is better than the rest:

  • Simple and easy to use
  • Ultra-fast downloading algorithms
  • DHT, PEX, and Magnet Link support
  • Super-efficient peer selection and choking
  • RC4 connection encryption for added security
  • Detailed bandwidth management and charting
  • Advanced features such as RSS, IP Filtering, Event Scheduler
  • Easy and quick install – no java, no .net
  • NO Spyware NO Ads NO Nonsense

Supported OS:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008

FrostWire 5.7.4

FrostWire is an open source, peer-to-peer file sharing program for the BitTorrent protocols. FrostWire is free, and can be run on any computer with an internet connection, with very little minimum system requirements. Join millions of other file sharers and download unlimited music, movies, and games. A large variety of files can be found on FrostWire, and searching for them is quick and easy.
Never again pay for a service that could be dirt cheap – if it weren’t being run by profiteering gluttons. FrostWire is written in Java. Gnutella support was dropped entirely, and now FrostWire only uses the BitTorrent network. You can now use FrostWire to send large files or entire folders to Colleagues, Friends and family. FrostWire performs a Smart Search upon the most relevant torrent search results that come from BitTorrent search engines, meaning it remembers every file contained by every torrent it scans increasing greatly the chance to find what you are looking for, super fast.

Operating systems:
